When I lived there I used to see tons of people (specially girls) walking around barefoot during the summer time. I am wondering if that still happens there.

Probably not presently since it is winter and probably covered in snow about now. Ask this question in June....

I was once told, by an American friend, that if a woman walked barefoot in California, she could be arrested for soliciting (this was about 30 years ago). I don't know if it is true.

Don't know. Live in Milwaukee-no one would walk barefoot here!

My neice goes to school there. I know she has her shoes on. I have visited there (but it was in April) - and I never saw any barefoot people. It's a college town - so you never know what you will see.

walking around barefoot is a huge tease, those girls should be very very careful.
