I don't think that, generally, people do care about animals more than humans.

But, has it ever occurred to you that humans rule this world and are in a much better position to be able to take care of themselves. They understand things and, if not, can have them explained. Animals are just so much more vulnerable. So often, they are powerless in the face of human greed, frustration, cruelty and simple carelessness.

I believe they need all the care they can possibly get.

I am glad some people do care about the animals. They are the only innocent living creatures in this whole mess. They have been used, and abused for centuries. Neglected, tortured in the name of "research" forced into unnatural situations for human amusement and entertainment, kept in cages and slaughtered in vast numbers for their body parts. They cannot speak for themselves, as other humans can, so I am absolutely glad whenever somebody, somewhere does the right thing and tries to make amends by help one poor animal in distress. It doesn't happen nearly enough.

I have been noticing more and more that animal rights count for more than human rights. People yawn when a human gets injured or murdered, but when it's an animal, they are going all outdoors, and it's all over the media. Plus, lots of pets have health insurance and pre-paid cemetary plots, while many humans just can't afford it. What gives?

The world would be a better place if people did care about others as much as they did animals.. On the other side, animals normally don't hate other people for some dumb or odd reason as people do to each other.

Because people suck, they're selfish, materialistic, backstabbing B****es that have a better chance of solving their problems than animals. Animals are Loyal, innocent, naive and dependant, non of which people are. If I had to choose between a dog and a person to save I'd choose the dog.

I wonder the same thing, all the time. All these animal rights people should have half the compassion for people, that they do for animals. They get all excited about people hunting, and yet they live on the commercial meat. They should all have to visit a factory farm.

In many ways, animals are better than us (unfortunately)
*you don't see a yellow tabby cat attacking a grey tabby cat because of color differences
*a female german shepherd will mate with a male wolf without the preoccupation that the wolf is a wild savage
*when a female animal abandons/kills her young, its usually because the infant is sickly and she's putting it out of its misery --- NOT because they simply "don't want it"
*overall, animals only kill when they feel threatened, not because they think its fun, and eat only what they need.

Do you notice how many programmes, that are on the TV dealing with the welfare of animals, but not of people.I think it comes down to the fact that we have become a twisted society. We elevate, trees, animals, entertainers to a position where we idolize, emulate and pray to,and ban the books and the teaching of the omega, whose message was love one another.,and forgive them that do you wrong.

in recent years society has (I cannot spell this correctly)amorthilised pets that is...they have elevated the to human status as pets become a member of the family,so have they become humanized, a startling example of this is a question posed by a lecturer who asked if your PET were drowning along a human stranger you did not know ,and you could only save one ,which would it be? 80% of respondents said their pet, putting animal life over a human life.
