This is 100% appeasement, and we already know that doesn't work! This conflict will not be "hugged" out of existence. Islamic radicals - like the leadership in Iran - want us DEAD. Not just Israel, but America, too. If you don't believe that, just find some of the speeches he gives at home. The scariest thing about Ahmadinejad is that he really CAN be very charming. His visit to the US was pretty fascinating to watch - amazing how he could sound so sincere when praising the American public. However, upon returning home, the "Death to America" rallies started right back up. This man has a Hitler-like charm and we all know how THAT ended. Well, most of us, anyway - Ahmadinejad being an obvious exception!

This is really starting to remind me of how the world behaved right before WWII. We can not forsake Israel - I am very concerned another Holocaust is coming. God help us all if that happens. Imagine how easy it would be now - at least in WWII, the Jews were scattered throughout Europe. These days, there are 5 million Jews in a tiny little country surrounded by people who want them dead. I wonder what the hard-core anti-war people will say if, God forbid, Iran DOES nuke Israel....

He's wrong and we are setting ourselves up for World War III. Appeasement never works. I.e. Hitler, Stalin, Napoleon. This is an ideological war. The only thing these people understand is force. Not saying that Saddam was better than the current situation, but it's why he had to rule with an iron fist.

The Middle East is a complex problem, and its politics continuously changing, making it impossible to hammer out a solution that will be viable.

Jim Baker's plans will come to naught.
