It is my belief that they attacked us because of our involvement in the affairs of other nations. Don't misunderstand me, AL Qaeda is a terrorist organization; they are not nice people, but they haven't attacked Sweden, or Switzerland. I advocate a return to the policy of George Washington: "Beware of foreign entanglements".
Now the question is: Qui bono? Who benefited from the attack? The only people I can think of are those who saddled us with the Patriot Act, and all the rest of this "Anti-Terrorist" legislation.
I would rather that we as a nation mind our own business and enjoy freedom. The alternative seems to be military involved all over the world and see our freedoms trampled on.

you're honestly good T-Hilt. They attack because of yankee interferance/intervention of their countries - and the help they have given to good wing regimes. Saddam Hussein replaced into one which they funded, supported, gave military intelligence to. Al Qaeda funded and supported by u . s . (virtually at creation) Saudi Arabia - a terrible regime. The list is going on. you're good - human beings take revenge for his or her overseas adventures. Pakistan will be next - the way they're strolling over the human beings there. One tale that stuck in my concepts from 2003. there replaced right into a school in Baghdad for 5-11 12 months olds. It replaced into bombed by individuals sorties. 80 little ones killed. lots of the injured little ones were pulled out of the rubble with limbs lacking, and body wounds and carried to the interior of sight wellbeing center. The wellbeing center replaced into bombed later that nighttime. Now if that doesn't create a choose for revenge i do not comprehend what does.

I don't think that it's our freedoms that they hate as much as our involvement. We originally armed the Taliban when they were fighting the USSR in Afghanistan. The Bush family has always been close to the bin Laden family. When Bush Senior put troops in Saudi Arabia during the first Iraqi war, this caused a riff in the bin Laden family and Osama moved to Afghanistan. He then turned the Taliban against their former allies the United States.

I'm not going to pretend like the US is perfect and does everything correct and has never done any wrong. But Al Qaeda just hates a lot of people for no good reason. They are crazy and hate other religions, cultures, and countries just because they are different. That is why the overwhelming majority of the world supports the Afghanistan War.

US involvement. It had little to do with our freedoms.
Jihadist movements in the middle east were slightly fond of US because of our helping by giving them weapons to fight the soviets in the earlier decades. But once we put our foot in it was imperialists invading all over again so a call to arms was issued.
I don't think many people actually turn down freedom when it comes to them (minus the people in power).

They claim it was for retaliation. But they hate the West in general. They hate everything every last one of us stands for and would like nothing more than to see all of us wiped off the face of the Earth. They hate our freedom, our wealth, our morals, our place as THE world power, on and on and on. That general hatred is their base motivation, all of the rest is just icing for them.

Islamic fundamentalists hate all things western. This isn't new. Been going on for many, many decades. We are now reaping what was sewn more than 50 years ago. Our inability to decisively respond will be our downfall.
