If I thought for a minute thongs were on their way out ... I'd run to my favourite lingerie shop and buy 50 years of inventory.
Absolutely love them, comfy, sexy, no panty lines, look great with garters & thigh highs ......
Man my world would be far less brighter without a thong.

I don't think so! I asked a friend of mine who works at Frederick's of Hollywood and she said... "no way are they dead!" They sell almost as much as they did 5-7 year ago.
I think that two things have happened. First, thongs came out before the low rise jeans. When those jeans came out, girls were wearing them with regular thongs and that is why there were so many whale tails around. After a while, fashion designers wised up and designed the low rise thong. Making it easier to hide the thong under those low rise jeans.
The second thing is that girls ran to the store to buy thongs because they were the hottest thing around in women's underwear in many years. Every girl wanted to try them out. That fever has gone down somewhat now, most women are realizing that thongs are great but that they can vary the type of underwear they wear based on their mood any given day or moment.
I have a feeling that sales of women's thongs are slowing some what, but sales of men's thongs are increasing slowly.

Thongs are the way to go..but I think the older women aren't as appreciative of them as the younger crowd... I work with a bunch of women in their 30's and not one of them wear thongs.. It all depends on the person?

I work at a doctors office and have found that many of the young women who wear thongs come in complaining of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, Vaginal Discharge and other problems. Not that they are promiscuous it's that the close proximity form anus to vagina and the constant back and foward of the string brings in germs to the female part. I always advice to save the thongs for special occations and use cotton underwear for every day use.

i cannot speak for all women, but alot of the time, the underwear has to do with my mood and what i am wearing over them.
there will always be a need for thongs. we do not like panty lines.
i have to wear them everyday becasue i wear slacks to work and regular underwear show lines
also if a women is in a sexy mood she may lean towards the thong too.

I personally never wanted to wear a thong. I tried but it is very uncomfortable and my husband said he really didn't think it was sexy. I really have no desire to sit all day feeling like I'm trying to floss my crack. I hope they are on the way out.

String bikinis are much more comfortable and hygenic! Friends who are nurses tell me stories about many infections caused by thongs.

Thongs are all my wife wears...she says they are the most comfortable...I don't think they'll ever go out of style.
