We are due March 27 with our first...but here enlies our problem...my husband was excepted to be a idaho state patrol officer and will graduate from the Academy on March 23 ( which means i only see him on the weekends due to training) We have a 2 week break when he graduates to get moved, and have the baby)He is also a marine corp reservist...So he was supposed to be excused from drill (once a month) for Jan-Mar because of the Academy. Now they are requiring him to be at drill along with the yearly training which will require him to go out to the field March 24-31 (he would be about an hour away at the least) So im freeking out wondering who is going to take me to the hospital (in-laws are out of the question...and my family is to far away) I would really like to have her naturally...so my question is should i chance it and just wait for when she comes and then just wait for my hubby to come in from the field or should i see about getting induced early like right before he graduates??

Congrats. Our son will be a year old on March 24.
See if he can get emergency leave. I know that in the Army, when the Soldiers are in training, they are entitled to emergency leave for things like this. Look into it.
I wanted to have my child naturally too, but it didn't work out. With first babies, they have a tendency to come late. I had the most awful contractions for a week before my doctor agreed to induce me. In my family, the women have a history of not being able to dialate properly, so there was a chance I would never be able to do it on my own. I was induced--it went fine, no complications. For a while. I dialated to 9 3/4 and stalled. The doctor wouldn't let me push, because it might enflame the cervix and make it harder to deliver. So I ended up having a C-Section. It's a risk, but it worked out. Jack and I are healthy now.
They usually won't induce you until you're already late, because it's not the best way for the baby. So, you could end up (if your baby comes late) not even delivering until 2 weeks after your due date.
I hope everything works out for you, your husband and your baby!!!! :)

You can have her naturally. If you opt for induction without medical cause and your cervix isn't effaced or dilated you might end up with an emergency c-section. Usually the first labor tends to be longer then the second or third so your husband will probably have time to come home and take you the hospital but if he doesn't you can call a cab. Good luck.

Getting induced would better your chances of dad being there but it can make labor harder.
You could also go over your due date.
You still have some time to think about it so give it more thought and see if you can answer your own questions. Also your Dr may refuse to induce since baby is fine.

I would wait, you can always call an ambulance, I gave bith to my first child by myself, I took a taxi to the hospital, If you are induced labor is brutal and sometimes doesn't work or end up in c-section. I would just hang in there things always have a way of working out!!

I would wait it out. I was induced with my first, and was in labor for 38 hours because of it. The baby will come when S/HE is ready, not when you are. As someone else said, you can always call for an ambulance and have your DH meet you at the hospital.

i was induced with my first only cause i had high blood pressure,, they have different ways of doing it,,, 1 gel that goes on the cervix,, 2 iv with medicine in it to bring on labour ,,,3 break your waters,, and more,,, these were the ones offered to me and my doctor chose to break my water, she put a long thing "in there" and broke my water, felt no pain until the contractions started, but i was having contractions for 1 day before they did this, and finally had my son 38 hrs later.. good luck

Have a back up plan with a neighbor or 2. Don't induce unless it's medically necessary.

have you ever fairly study distinct the added documents on right here? many circumstances the question became a lot more desirable ideal without them. Then too, added documents seem as you're answering or afterwards... there have been some circumstances that i have neglected part of the documents or did not study them.

Chances are nothing would happen, but if I were your husband, (and you) I would want him there, just in case. Like I said, chances are nothing will go wrong, but life IS unpredictable. (plus this is your first child, who would want to risk missing that?) I would dicuss it with you OB and see what he/she suggests. Congrats, and Good Luck.
