Yes, its normal. Doctors give themselves room for error...I am 13 weeks measuring 14 weeks. I'm sure by my next appointment I'll be measuring further along. The dr.s have changed my due date 3 times already.

That's not uncommon. Abdominal measurement is an estimate which should be "within 2 centimeters plus or minus the number of weeks of pregnancy" between weeks 20 and 32. So you are within the normal variation. Some people measure higher because they are larger, or have longer torsos. Not necessarily indicating a big baby. If you measure 3 cm or more "large" they may do another ultrasound to check the baby's growth rate. Also, different people measuring may get slightly different numbers. After 32 weeks, there is more variation depending on if the baby has dropped or not (the number can even go down from the week before if the baby is much lower). Suggestions:
1. Don't sweat it!
2. Talk to your provider about anything which you don't understand during your visit :)

That is very common I always measured about 3 weeks bigger then I was then again I had very big boys. My first was 10p1oz 21 1/2 inch's and my second was 10p11oz and 20 1/2 inch's he was also 2 and a half weeks early too, They said that if he stayed in untill his due date he would have been over 11 pounds I dont think my back could have taken that lol . Not all women who measure big have big baby's though. Congrats on becoming a mommy.

Measuring is not accurate so you should not go by it. There are to many factors to figure in that are unknown. Even doctors can be off as much as 4 weeks either way about your due date. Only you will know for sure when you conceived, then it can still be a guessing game if you had sex every day during ovulation. You will only be able to narrow it down to the week and not the exact day.

Yes I'm still going through it.It started when I was measuring 26 weeks at 22 weeks. Now I am measuring a week ahead. My doctor says it's fine because I already had my ultrasound and there wasn't twins. So if you've had your and no twins, you should be fine.Other than that, you could just be like me and your baby is going to be big.Sorry.....Hope this helps.Good Luck!

It's normal. I was measuring 39 weeks when I was 37 and I had my baby a couple days later. So I was measuring 2 weeks early and I had my baby 2 weeks early. Not saying that it will happen to you, but that's what happened to me. It also happened to a friend of mine.

With both my children I measured 2-3 cm ahead of my weeks. The doctor thought my 1st was going to be big (over 9lbs) because I was 41cm at 38 weeks but he was only 7lb 6 oz (and I only gained 17 lbs so it wasn't fat). That's totally normal. It could be the way the baby is positioned in there...

I was measuring two weeks ahead of schedule my entire pregnancy! The doctor and I knew Ethan's due date was correct. We had an ultrasound and Ethan was just a big baby. He weighed 8lbs 4oz at birth and he was almost 2 weeks early! Good luck and dont worry! Take care and congrats on the new little one!

My baby ended up weighing 9 lbs 14 ounces.
Your baby is just slightly bigger than average.

yes, it's completely normal...i was always at least 2 weeks ahead with my belly measurement. at 30 weeks i measured 33 weeks and i thought i'd have my daughter early, but she was right on time!! as long as you're around the ballpark area, there is nothing to worry about.
congradulations!!
