i have heard it was in the 1800's, this cant be true?

Yes, they were the first company to produce plastic coated playing cards in the 1800's

It is true they started out in the 1800's. They originally made fancy, decorate traditional Japanese Playing cards (hanafuda, which are quite different than current decks of cards). They were founded in 1889 in Kyoto. After the decline of traditional cards, they made some Western Playing cards and continued to be a small company for quite sometime. Then they evolved into a game developer, eventually latching on to video games in the late 1970s early 1980s, designing many early video games for Atari, such as Mario Bros. From there they launched their own system, and the rest is history.

Nintendo origanlly made playing cards. They later went on to create some of the classics we know like Mario. :)

Actually she was correct .. Nintendo started out making playing card in 1889, it was established by a guy named Fusajiro Yamauchi.

Lol, no dude. 1980's. TV's hadn't been invented in the 1800's, so that can't be true.
