With the end of the Clone War, Palpatine needed a way to solidify his support for the new Empire. Instead of maintaining the clone army he began to replace them with normal humans by instigating a new propaganda campaign to instill patriotism.
Many of the higher learning institutes were converted into military academies and it's graduates were used to fill the post and positions of the Imperial Navy and Imperial Army. Luke was attempting to get into such and academy in Episode 4, Han Solo (according to the lore) is said to have been a former Imperial Naval Officer and graduate from the Imperial Academy. Biggs Darklighter was also an Imperial Academy graduate. The expanded universe has introduced Brenn Tantor, Dellis Tantor, and Davin Felth all were non-clone stormtroopers.
Stormtrooper clones did not appear until the Timothy Zahn triogy of novels, when Grand Admiral Thrawn utilized cloning cylinders from one of Palpatine's hidden technology caches on the planet Wayland.

The empire only used clones for so long. Just before A New Hope, the empire allowed regular humans to enlist. The clones were good, but were not able to think independently enough. Biggs even said he applied at the academy.

Stormtroopers aren't clones...they're simply soldiers wearing uniforms. Therefore, they can be lefties or righties.

The Stormtroopers were NOT clones. That's why! Where did you get the idea they were clones? They are not, as Xander explains above.

IT IS CALLED REPLICATANT FADE. THIS IS WHY NOW A DAYS CLONING WILL NOT WORK. AFTER YOU MAKE A COPY OF SOMETHING AND CONTINUE TO MAKE COPIES OF COPIES, SOME OF THE DATA WILL FADE OUT. THIS PROBLEM WILL HAVE TO BE SOLVED BEFORE CLONING CAN HAVE A PLACE IN THIS SOCIETY. RIGHT NOW, IN ORDER TO CLONE SOMETHING, YOU MUST HAVE A CLEAN CELL FROM THE ORIGINAL. THEY HAVE TRIED TO CLONE FROM THE CLONE BUT SOMETHING ALWAYS GOES WRONG AND THE CLONE'S CLONE DOESN'T SURVIVE.
