All this depends on how old your pc is, and how long it has been since you did any maintenance. Some pointers:
1. Increase ram.
2. Defrag drive -r/click drive/properties/tools/defrag
3. r/click IE/properties/delete files/delete cookies/clear history
4. Delete old programs and files(this is a biggie)
If these suggestions don't help, a complete reistall will make a world of difference. I personally reinstall regularly, it's like having a brand new computer - and it's not such a big deal really.
Have fun

You might need to defragment you hd or you have too disable some of the start up programs. You can do this by going to start, all programs, accesories, system tools, and then defrag. Anylise you hd, and afer if you have a lot a red, that means you have a lot of fragmented files ad its time to defrag. After that go to start msconfig and then to the start up tab and disable the unessisary start up fro example quicktime.

Might be time to upgrade the memory, or maybe a new processor too.
Alternative to that, check to see how many programs Windows needs to start when it loads. You can also edit the number of services Windows has running at any given time. Find the services you don't need and disable them.

you could possibly have alot of programs starting up when your computer starts. there are a couple of ways you can fix this. you could defrag your computer to speed up your computer after you do a disk cleanup or you could possibly have a virus and you would need to scan your system. another way would be to go into your system configuration menu and look at your startup programs and deselect everything except anything that has CCapp in the name

It seems ur running lots of background programms which U really don't required.
Goto start - Run - type msconfig, and go to startup pragrams last options and check which all programs you really need and uncheck others, and reboot your system, and that's it
Good luck

You probably have too many programmes on Start-up. Reduce the number and gain speed accordingly.
