No it should not be viewed. Whether it is aliens or they are coming up with all those wonderful ideas themselves the US needs some secrecacy (sp) when it comes to our military and aircrafts. Now if the alien thing is real I think they need to let the public know that there is evidence that aliens are definately visiting our planet, but thats all.
How would you like it if the US bombarded your outdoor shed where you kept all your fancy ideas and different things you like to make and stole all of your ideas to make money off of it. You wouldn't like it at all therefore the US doesn't want us or any other country knowing what is going on in Area 51 so the enemy will not steal their ideas.

How do they get these aircraft? Sheer research and development. None of the technology we've seen from there is so magical as to be 'alien'.
The whole 'Roswell/Area 51/aliens' bit is getting kind of old now, isn't it? There is nothing in the actual records of the time or in the earlier reports that contradicts the military's claim that it was an experimental high-altitude balloon in the original Roswell incident.
In all the years afterwards, absolutely no new evidence has shown up that makes any real sense- despite claims for supposed 'insiders'.
The research and development base should be very limited in access- do you really want people being able to waltz in and grab what they want, or watch secret projects being developed?
And why pick on Area 51? There are LOTS of government-owned places you can't go in the US, even parts of otherwise public spaces like the White House.

Even if they let you into Area 51 you wouldn't find anything. They would move what ever evidence is there to some other facility or they just wouldn't let you see any of the secure areas.
Aliens would explain how we have made some many technology advances in such a short time span, but it tough to believe that the secret could be kept for this long and I don't understand why they would want to still keep it a secret.

Area 51 is closed to the public because of the advanced scientific technology that is done there.
If you were the worlds strongest power and people wanted to see you top secret aircrafts and technology, would you let the people in to your treasures and secrets?
NO WAY!

Well, except that they test advanced military planes there which are really none of our (the general public) business. Allowing us to know every thing about every plane that they are designing and testing would put us at a huge risk of being attacked by other countries.
Think about how hard they work to keep spies out of there already. Do you really think that we should be giving that information freely to our enemies? I think that you should maybe look at the bigger picture.

It's true that the existance of other life seems omprobable but just as improbable is the notion they have visited us on our insignificant little dust mote in the fringes of the galaxy.
Why do you think we should have free access to secret research?

I think they should tell us what they discover, cause they are working and people will just get in the way. If they tell people are least what they are doing and what they discover then people will hopefully stop trying to speak around. I don't think people should be allow in when they are working cause we would just disturb them and make them mad. But you are right it shouldn't be closed off, but if you think about they way people act when they are around people ( nervous do stupid stuff etc). It is science and science should be told to everyone!

How do they get those aircraft? People design and build them. Not that big of a secret.
