When you trump in the bath the smell mixes with the water and circulates hence it smells worse as you are surrounded by the water and the smell. Poowee!!! Wonder if this happens in the swimming pool. There must be a limit to the water it can mix with.

Normally you fart behind you, however, when you do it in the bath, its a concentrated bubble of pong that explodes on the surface of the water very close to your nose.

Cos a) you're in a more confined space so it is more concentrated and b) you are hydrating the gases in water so the smell intensifies.
