we should be thankful for the countries we are allowed to visit, though. Did you know, for example, that we're one of the only 12 countries allowed to enter into Switzerland without needing a visa. Very convenient, really. I'm in Russia, I have already visited France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, come this February, I would have been to Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Austria (and once more to Germany and Netherlands), and all this without the need of applying for a visa. In order to enter Israel, you need to apply for visa, they do give permissions for malaysians to visit (eg. during pilgrimage).

This is pure politics. Malaysia, similar to virtually all islamic nations, does not 'recognise' the existence of Israel and 'bans' nearly everything, including social contacts or visits, with the Jewish state. However, world realitiy being what it is, you may be allowed visits for religious reasons. There are also those who got into Israel by other means. Often one's entry into Israel is not stamped in the passports - as matter of expedience.

It was proven in history that Israel took the land by force and announceed/ formed the country without the consent from most of the nations at that time. They took most of the land from the palestinians by war and army.Clearly, Malaysia at that point together with several other countries did not accept or recognise Israel as a state. Therefore, our passport disallows us to visit a state taken by force.
( accoding to history, not being bias to any nation or groups)

I think it's something to with not reconising Israel as an independent state. While researching your question I came across a very interesting article which is rather long so I wont cut and paste it, but here it is if you want to read it:

Malaysia does not recognise Israel as a country. Do you expect Israel to welcome Malaysians? At one time Dr M was barred from entering Israel which is not surprising.
