If you have a Bladder, or Urinary tract infection, and you go to the doctor, can they tell that you've had sex?

If you have to give a urine sample..or something, can it be linked to sex?

Can these be caused by sex?

No, it cannot show that you have had sex. The test for a urinary tract or bladder infection involves them collecting your urine and dipping a stick in it and watching the color change. Having had sex doesn't make any difference in the results.

Generally a doctor cannot tell if you have had sex, unless you go in to have a pelvic exam and there is actually semen in your vagina. Nobody wants to see that, so just take a few days off before you go to the doc or use a condom.

UTIs can certainly be caused by sex, though. You should try to go pee after intercourse if you are prone to getting them.

UTI's can DEFINITELY be caused by having sex. Its an unfortunate fact of feminine anatomy that everything down there is SO close together, and the urethra is only an inch long, so introduction of bacteria into the bladder is really hard to avoid. (as an FYI, try urinating as soon after sex as possible to cleanse the urethral opening of bacteria).

As for it showing up - its unlikely they're going to find sperm in the sample, but one of the first things they'll do is take the urine sample and culture it to find an antibiotic that will be most effective against that particular strain of bacteria. They will probably ask you straight out if you've had sex recently and you MUST answer honestly so that they can treat you most effectively.

There is no sense lying to the doctor - they don't care about your sexual habits - only treating your illnesses. Its not like they'll take full-page ad out in the Sunday paper and announce to the world that you've been having sex!

Although some women get UTIs after sex, the doctor cannot tell if you had sex, because when they collect the urine sample, they will test it for white cells and red cells, not for sperm.

If the white cells are high, that will tell them that you have a urinary tract infection (UTI) and they will give you an antibiotic.

Just go to a regular doctor and tell him/her your symptoms.

Good luck!

Just going to a regular doctor and giving a urine sample, they cannot detect that you've had sex.

Although, I used to have lots of problems with these and asked my doctor what could be causing them, since I had changed my diet and drank lots of water.

She told me that they could be cause by sex, because during penetration, he could be bumping against my bladder. Shaking things around and such. She told me the best way to stop this from causing a bladder infection was to pee right after sex. Which I do now, and I haven't really had a problem since.

If you go to a gyno, they can tell if they look at you. Symptoms of a bladder or urinary infection are usually always the same. Go to a regular doctor, he won't look in youu, just give you a pill to make it go away

Pee can't be linked to sex.

Drink plenty of cranbury juice

they can be caused by se, but also a number of other things. If you hold your pee too long you can get them too. So they won't be able to tell you've had sex.
