I would highly advice that you practice Mindfulness Meditation just 15 min. a day.
Why ? Because mindfulness meditation improves one's memory, concentration and focus (especialy so you will Not be easily distracted), it is also scientifically proven according to Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn PhD and many other reputable Doctors; it is proven to highly improve the process of Cognitive Thinking within the individual that practices Mindfulness Meditation 15 min. a day ! It also provides peace, and helps one act and react patiently with people and situations, instead of being irritable and easily angered. It erradicates anxiety and depression too ! There are so many many other benefits of this practice as well. I will discover this as you study it and practice it on a daily basis. You will succeed !!
Mindfulness Meditation is easy to learn, but requires determination, persistence, and
loving-kindness toward oneself.
I will tell you this much, Mind"fulness" meditation is not making one's mind go blank.
One is totally Mindful, and aware of what is going on. It is NOT mind"less"ness, but is Mind"full"ness in every way!! There is nothing mysterious or creepy about it. People all around the world have been practicing it for over 2, 300 years, and have the results I have mentioned to you above.
"Do a bit of research on the internet on Mindfulness Meditation. To understand it and to properly Practice Mindfulness Meditation." Just type in Mindfulness Meditation in the search area, and go from there. This is no need to buy any books on this at first. Later after practicing it for a few months, you may want to.
A good place to start is with 10 or 15 min. a day with practicing what is called "The Mindfulness of Breathing." And then learn and go from there. You will do just fine !!
As time goes by, say after one month of practicing mindfulness meditation, you may want to increase your time by 5 minutes, then after another month increase it to another 5 minutes, and so on.
You will highly benefit from the daily practice of Mindfulness Meditation, as I have. But be Patient, some people notice a big improvement in certain areas right away while for others in may not show for a few weeks.
For me the increase in Concentration did not appear for 2 weeks, but I did notice an extreme difference in tolerance and Patience toward myself and especially toward other people (and situations in life). Where before I was occasionally easily angered, and irritated by the by the irrational behavior of others.
Hope this helps. I do not care about receiving points, or ten points, my only desire is to help others with their sufferings in life, whether it be the slightest disappoints in life - to sickness, and disease.
I have been practicing Mindfulness Meditation for a few years now, and Loving-kindness Meditations for others for almost a year now, with excellent results.
From a Register Nurse (R.N) with a Masters Degree.
P.S. - I too, work Full Time and am back in College 30 hours a week toward receiving my PhD. I have a spouse and 2 children as well. Mindfulness Meditation has helped me in so many ways in life. And my wife and one of my children practice mindfulness meditation daily and see Excellent results as well. My daughter is only 5, and a little too young to practice this; but she will soon in the future.

It is necessary to have a quiet mind for concentration. Meditation is the best method to train your mind to relax and remain quiet.Select any convenient time for meditation but stick to that time every day.Every religion has meditation process with slight variation. Sit erect. Close your eyes. Rest your hands on your knees. Take deep breaths. Hold for 5 counts. Exit the air through nos trills slowly. Do this for 5 to 10 times. Then take normal breaths. Think of any person or object which is very close to you. May be an idol of God, Guru, or you can even think of the star galaxy. Think only about that object and slowly your mind will be stable and quiet. Do it initially for 3 minutes and slowly increase the period. Then after have a cup of coffee and start your studies.
You will experience the result yourself.
Best of luck

The best way is to pray.
Do you know the shortest prayer is the Jesus's prayer...did you hear about it?
""Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner."
Take good care!
