Reagan because he knew by arming Saddam and keeping Iran in check the world would be a better place. After the gulf war saddam was severly limited in his powers and would never pose a threat again.

Reagan. Even though Sadam was wrong to do what he did, at least there was a modicum of stability in Iraq. The idiot Bush with his lies and fabrications has destabilized the whole Middle East. I don't fear terrorism from Muslims. I fear terrorism from the likes of Bush and our gestapoized police forces.

Something to enlighten:
"Truman and Eisenhower began by ceding to Middle Eastern dictators the property rights in the oil that Americans and British discovered and developed.
"After the surrender of property came the surrender of liberty. Iranian dictator Khomeini imprisoned American diplomats for more than 400 days. The Carter administration did nothing. Later Khomeini ordered the assassinations of British author Salman Rushdie and his American publisher, simply for exercising their right to free speech. The [first] Bush Administration looked the other way.
"After the surrender of liberty came the surrender of life itself. Iran abetted the massacre of American soldiers in Saudi Arabia, and then Afghanistan abetted the destruction of our embassies in East Africa. Eager to appease these dictatorial regimes, Clinton either did nothing or launched a few public-relations bombs.
"Terrorists succeed," said Dr. Brook, "through the sanction and support of the dictators behind them. And the dictators prosper when American presidents abandon their responsibility to defend our rights. President Bush has declared that he will make 'no distinction' between the suicidal terrorists and the governments that supported them. He must carry out this pledge. Their killings are not crimes, but acts of war. The only proper response to such acts is a war in self-defense. Any regime that deprives a single American citizen of his right to property, liberty or life must be met not with appeasement--but with the full force of America's military arsenal."
This didn't happen over the last 15 years! This is more like the culmination of 50+ years of giving in to fundamentalist Islamic demands. This goes way back before former President Carter, back to Eisenhower.
As far as who was right? None of them were and won't be until we deal directly with Iran in a forceful manner.

Reagan used him like a tool. And last time I checked all the weapons we're finding over there are from Russia.
And Bush was just finishing what should have been finished in 93. Hmmmm... fabricated evidence? Who fabricated it then, the Dems? The right wing, Russia, France, Great Britain, Maddy Albright? Clintoon? Spain? Australia? I mean they all thought Saddam still had the weapons. And I'm sure he did... Only Syria has them now.

Both were wrong to use Republican profiteering to promote their political party at the risk of American Democracy the Neocons have yet to learn. These politics have never worked. This is only a ploy for population control that is very inhumane, and can be considered as genocide, not Democracy!!!

Reagan. His original purpose was to arm them against Iran, just like he armed Saudi Arabia to fight the communist forces. He was looking at their enemy and not enough at the country in question.

I guess they were both right and wrong if you consider the fact that they managed to accomplish a massive conspiracy aimed at the US having an excuse for invading Iraq and hopes for dominating the middle-east oil. It;s so easy to see what the republican party stands for these days. Sounds like a set-up don't it
