NO........the UN is a waste of time and money. It seems as though their only function is to bash the USA

We should stay involved in the UN only because if they agree with us it gives us moral authority to enact our policies abroad. If they disagree with us they do not have the power to stop us. If the UN actually had the power stop terrorism it would have the power to stop freedom too. Which they would likely do.

At least a couple of times a year Kofi Annan says there is some vexing problem that requires vesting the UN with police power and tax power. I hope the UN never becomes what people want it to become. Who would want the UN to be more effective.

The UN is supposed to be a peace keeping organization. If the US is going to only do what the US wants to do, then they should back out of the UN and let the other countries handle it.

As long as the UN has is headquarters on American soil, we should stay committed to the group and follow their orders when dealing with international affairs that do not directly affect us.

Yes, most definetely. We should become even more involved with the international community and stop using our power to fulfill our own goals at the expense of global security. We are stronger when united with other nations. The fact that a man like Kofi Annan chose to criticise the US administration for their behaviour in his last words at his job is a sign of just how much the rest of the world feels we don't care about being part of the global community.

We need to stay involved and NOT trust the UN...on anything. Better to stay in the room and know what is going on than to leave the room and let those present plot in private. Forewarned is forearmed.

The Useless Nuisance has been hijacked by the turd world and the 'former' communist nations and is being used as a weapon against the USA and its policies. We should send it to Paris or Tehran and let it fiddle there on someone elses account while we and our sane allies try to do what it should have done all along.

You're kidding, right? Robin Williams put it best -- the U.N. is about as effective as a traffic cop on valium. Best thing to do is kick those useless idiots out and turn the U.N. building into condos/apartments.
