They are certainly doing enough from preventing Israel from being able to defend itself. Other than that most of their activities involve taking bribes and looking the other way. So guess it depoends on whose perspective you're looking at it from. THen take the human rights comission for example. Can you think of a better cast of countries to determine what is human and what is not?

In conclusion, the UN is a joke. It used to be a collection of countries with a common goal and the will to act. Now just about anyone can join. There is no concensus as to a goal. ANd to tp it off it's leaders are some of the most corrupt in the world.

Have they ever? In my opinion, no. The UN is interested in anything/everything that will bring power to their own agenda and less interested in uniting nations.

The big question is: What purpose does the UN serve? I'm thinking no purpose at all. They sat in their safe little world, when the Nigerian ambassador was SCREAMING to send troops to Rwanda back in the 90s. So the answer to your question is: No they don't.
