Why don't parents protect their kids from Hip-Hop?

I know it's not the kids fault because they don't know better but the adults know about disco.They know how stupid they dress back then ,they know how embarrassing it is to look at the old pictures . Why are they not stopping their kids from embarrassing themselves ?

Babee hip-hop to me is a bunch of smart music producers taking advantage of kids .It's a enduring fad but still a fad and a recycled one at that . The only legitimate music involed in it is the samples of real music they lift from old rock songs, the rest is just dirty nursery rhymes and takes no talent as it is all the same.

Giggles, it is not the content of the songs I am talking about .The content is a joke.What I am talking about is the marketing, about the money kids are spending on the " Fashion?".The poor kids are being sucked in and dressing like fools.Now it's one thing to dress like a knob , but to pay large for it is just nuts.PS..I listen to current music, most of it is too wimpy for my taste though...

Because for some parents it's easier to just let their kids do what they want. Instead of teaching them that hip hop is crap.

This is amusing. I'm sure your parents felt the same way about whatever it was you were into. Hip hop today is like your thing for Elvis Presley or the Beeties. (My Mom is sadly still a beetles nut she even refuses to believe the Beeties experimented with drugs back then.) It's just a fad that will go away someday. And when that someday your kids will feel the same about there childrens fads.
Lecture cut short I will let any possible future children of mine do whatever fad they want but with limits of course.

well when people grow up everyone has to have there own style, not everyone is all hip hop and going around embarressing themselves.... you want kids to go around listening to disco? thats crazy that time period will never come back and id rather listen to hip hop then that any day. Also how can you say people dress a genre of music (parents look embarressing back then during disco)? the music has nothing to do with a style of clothes.... what do we want kids to listen to? polka? gospel? Its the time period were living in, if you tell a kid not to listen to hip hop, he or she is obviosuly going to want to.

Because they have no discipline themselves. The dressing is bad enough. When so called music says "Move B#$^& get out the way" that should tell the parents something is wrong.

A lot of parents have forfeited their role as parents. They are either ignorant, don't care, or don't know how to stop these things. Training must start early on, respect must be in place before the teen years or you've got no chance. And you have to remember that as a kid, your parents don't know anything.

because their kids do NOT listen to their parents, nor did NOT do anything what the parents says.. kids are too busy listening to music.
