I would buy a sweater wrap aka shawl for the 74 yr old, then I would get some toys that all the children could share, like dolls, trucks, etc(since I don't know if they are girls or boys or both),then I would go to the Dollar Tree and get some stockings and fill them for the Children, then try to buy some staple goods as in Macaroni, canned veggies, meats, soups, canned or dry milk, etc and some of that could be gotten at the Dollar Tree, then if anything was left,I would buy the other 2 Adults something ONLY one gift, from the Dollar Tree and use the rest of the money to get blankets for the family as well.

I definitely agree that you should worry about the children first. These programs (like Angel Tree) are great, but there has to be realistic expectations. I'm actually surprised that the adults asked for such extravagant gifts....there are tons of families out there that can't afford such things. Do they ask for anything else besides the high priced technology? I understand that it's a WISH list, but if I were in their shoes, I would be asking for more attainable things, and I certainly woudn't want ANYTHING if it meant that my children's Christmas was compromised.
I would suggest speaking about the dilemma to a few office mates that are involved as well, and see if they agree with you about taking care of the children first. If there's money left after that, make a decision about some practical but fun gifts, possibly even gift certificates, for the adults. Good luck!

Salvation Army or other Thrift stores... you can find some really great stuff that looks brand new or even has tags on them still for a VERY LOW price! Also you can go CLEARANCE SHOPPING, go to all the toy stores such as toysrus and kbtoys and look thru their clearance sections, as I have a 2yr old and I know he will like anything he opens... as long as it is a toy! If you are shopping for a boy in that age range I can tell you my son loves dinosaurs, and trucks/cars!!! Also WALMART sells these dinosaurs for only .88 and my son LOVES them!!! There is NO choking hazard and NO small parts, they are usually located on the aisle where walmart sells THIER brand of toys, it will probably be just a small box with a ton of different assorted dinosaurs! So you could get a few and not even spend 10.00! Walmart has a ton of stuff now that is VERY CHEAP for the holidays if you look over by the bath stuff they have bath sets for ALL ages starting at like 4.95! I hope this helps! And as for the adults, I would keep an eye out at the thrift stores for the playstation otherwise I would find something else to get them, a playstaion is a little selfish to be asking a TOTAL stranger to buy you!

Start with the youngest and work your way up. When you have the kids covered, take the remaining money (if any) and buy three gift cards for the adults from somewhere like Wal-Mart, K-Mart or Target. If they really want that Trac-phone or TV or Playstation they can buy it themselves.
I have to ask, what kind of adults would ask for such extravagant gifts when there are 9 little children in need of Christmas gifts?
Sorry, that just really troubles me.
God Bless you for what you are doing for this family! Merry Christmas!

FIrst of all, I'd call everyone in the office together and explain the money problem. See if that will generate a bit more money After that, I'd DEFINITELY address the needs of the children first, and then the elderly adult. Children need and deserve some excitement at Christmas. The adults can live without a tracphone and a playstation. Again...children first!

it truly is a demanding one. My question is why are the adults even on the tree. maximum Angel tree's indexed the following are purely for little ones. Why no longer purchase for the youngsters and take the of the money you would spend on the adults and purchase them Christmas dinner and spend the a good type of the money for the youngsters. besides you do not ought to purchase what they choose and the sound to me to be a touch grasping till some one else filled out this for them (that's the way it somewhat works the following any way) then it truly isn't any longer there fault. And purely because there a large relations that do no longer cause them to irresponsible additionally they ought to have purely fallen on demanding circumstances this very last little at the same time as. do exactly the purely right you are able to for them it truly is all you may do contained eventually.

wow, usually they only put the kids on the list i thought? oh well. that is great that you are willing to help out a needy family.

i would try to get the kids gifts first. try to raise at least another 30 bucks to get to the $500 mark. i would take the $400 and spend it on the kids and leave the other $100 to the adults. Get the adults a $100 gift card to the mall for them to share or something like that.

since some of the kids are younger they won't know the amount you spend on them. just go to walmart and get blocks and stuffed animals(safe ones for a 2 year old of course).
