Look at the damage deer, elk & coyotes cause on Livestock. Millions of dollars are being taken from ranchers and farmers everywhere. Please everyone do your part as an american citizen HUNT. Dont be selfish and say "it hurts the animals" look at the starving farmer. Human life is far more valuable then a herd of deer or elk.

Yes i agree it is a choice thing and i am not saying to go out and wantonly shoot animals. I believe that you take only what you need and also i am saying this to protect the rancher from losses of his cattle or sheep or whatever. The farmer for his loss of crop such as corn, wheat, etc. You know the stuff some of you vegetarians like to eat. I agree with the guy about herd control population & such. I have total respect for all answers, and thanks for your input. I just want you to know that i would never take more then what i would need for me and my family.

Logically your question makes no sense. There are 300 million people in the US. If everyone over 18 were forced to hunt, what would that do to the animal population in the US. Tags for hunting are based on animal population in that region. The people in charge of those tags set the number of tags to control the animal population so that the species being hunted can still reproduce. With uncontrolled hunting some species would be wiped out. Also, not everyone that hunted would eat or use the meat from the animal killed. Look at what almost happened to the American Bison.
I am not an animal activist, just a realist that can see the bigger picture.

"Human life is far more valuable then a herd of deer or elk."
I beg to differ. I believe all lives are sacred. Lots of animals are much nicer beings than some humans I know.
So what's wrong with people in America? Maybe they are compassionate in a way different than what you think is important.
If it's such a problem - maybe the hunting laws should be changed so you can kill as many as you want. Then people like you can get out there with a machine gun. The laws probably exist for a reason though.
And - just for the record - I don't eat meat. If others want to eat meat - that's fine with me - it's a great source of protein.

I am a animal lover, but if my family needed food I would hunt to feed them. Why don't you see if the government will extend the hunting season. What is it now, 2 weeks. That hardly seems long enough to keep the deer population under control even with as many hunters as there are out there every year. Good luck.

Americans are very hospitable. We have hunting season in this country. We even have schools that teach people how to capitalize America.

Hey, dude, you couldn't force me to pick up a gun. You want to hunt, that's your business, as long as you have the proper knoledge of how to operate and store your weapon, I'm totally fine with that, but having freedom means freedom to do or NOT do something.
