LOL It has nothing to do with the womans size or height! That's ridiculous! It all just depends on when the baby is ready to come out. Wish I could tell you more but keep in mind to relax. When you try to relax your muscles, it makes it a lot easier. As hard as that might be to do. Don't listen to all the horror stories people try to soak into your brain. I had two 10 pound girls and it doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl, weight or height! Give me a break! What a joke! It all depends on the timing so just relax, do not stress about it and you will be just fine! Don't pay any attention to people that try to scare you just to make themselves look tough because they already went through it. I'd rather do birthing again than go to the dentist! LOL I'm not saying there's no pain. There is but it CAN be managable and perfectly fine! Nothing you can't handle I'm sure!

It does vary woman to woman and also birth to birth. It does not depend on the height of the woman as one previous poster mentioned. My mom is just over 5 foot and was in labor with her first for 24 hours and her second for 18. I am 5 foot 5 and with my first from first contraction to birth was 12 hours and my second lasted approximately six hours. I have a cousin who just gave birth yesterday and she had been having contractions (off and on) for two weeks before she had the babe. I am now pregnant with my third and am due in April and although I am hoping that it will be faster than my first, I am also hoping that it won't go too much faster than my second because I was not even admitted to the hospital before he was born. They did not think I would have him that quickly.

Labour can last from 7 days to 10 Minutes, some even dont have the labour pain. it all depends on the UTRUS.

so no theory on that.

Depends on the baby and the woman. My labors were 16 hours, 8 hours and 6 hours respectively. All were induced labors which come on faster, usually.

My sister walked around in labor for about 3 days.

yes, the labour pains can last few hours, and the active phase (stage 1) of labour should not last longer than 12 hours. something you can note is you can request for epidural analgesia. that gives you complete pain relief. i assume that apart from asking academic question you are also little worried about the pain factor. i can assure you that epidural is very safe, as an overall method for pain relief.

The shorter you are like what your height is makes the difference,,,,,short women have their baby usually in a faster time and we tall gal have labor from 18 to when ever and the reason is the birth canal {a tall gal has a longer canal and it takes longer all this if it is a natural birth,,,}

Different for everyone really BUT usually it takes anywhere from 5 to 15 hours on the whole. But that's give or take of course! Contractions really don't hurt as much as people want you to THINK they do! I'm sure they do for wimpy people but they never did for me ad I aen't no Xena the princess warrior myself LOL I've had two 10 pound babies too!
