Mars or Europa?
personally i'd go for europa to be honest.

No matter where in space you go, if conditions for life exist, there will be life. Regardless of hostility, anywhere life can exist it will, we have seen that here on earth, in places you would never expect life to exist. Since there is evidence of liquid water on Europa the chance for life is very good.

Well our life is Carbon based and if life is formed anotehr way, The aliens can be Another color and blood, Not all life can be formed with water but another substance that is made in stars when it blows the way life began.
