It is "said" that it could help if a women is ovulating during the time of intercourse to have an orgasm slightly before he releases his sperm, they say that the cervix opens up and sucks up the sperm like a vacuum but not sure if this is an effective method. They also say to orgasm at the same time or directly after wards but there is conflicting arguments about if this works or not, they say that if you orgasm then, then you could be pushing the sperm out away from it's target but again this is just based on hear say. Sperm know where they are going they are like salmon when released inside the women's vaginal cavity they know where they are supposed to go it is just a matter of them getting there and meeting an egg. best of luck to you

Yes, it does. It increases the chances of conception, but not because it "releases more fluids," but rather, the mechanical movement involved in the woman's body moves more sperm into her womb and closer to their goal: an egg. So, if it is significantly earlier than the man's orgasm, there is no effect.
From www.medicinenet.com
Yet, it was only three years ago that two British biologists, Robin Baker and Mark Bellis, tested the so-called upsuck hypothesis. Baker and Bellis sought to learn just how female orgasms might affect which of a lover's sperm is used to fertilize a woman's eggs.
They asked volunteers to keep track of the timing of their orgasms during sex, and, after copulation, to collect male ejaculates from vaginal flowback--a technical term denoting a distinct form of material that emerges from the vagina several hours after sex (scientists have devised a way to collect it). The team counted sperm from over 300 instances of human copulation.
They discovered that when a woman climaxes any time between a minute before to 45 minutes after her lover ejaculates, she retains significantly more sperm than she does after nonorgasmic sex. When her orgasm precedes her male's by more than a minute, or when she does not have an orgasm, little sperm is retained. Just as the doctors' letters suggested decades earlier, the team's results indicated that muscular contractions associated with orgasm pull sperm from the vagina to the cervix, where it's in better position to reach an egg.

Maybe, but I really don't think so. I have had at most, 2 orgasms in my sexual history and I'm pregnant with my 3rd child. Each time I've gotten pregnant I can guarantee that I didn't have an orgasm.
First time he THOUGHT he pulled out in time, no orgasm for me.
Second time it was normal sex, no orgasm for me.
Third time I was tired of using condoms because I can't feel a darn thing with them so we went without it, again, no orgasm for me.
But maybe I'm just a fertile myrtle...

Nope. That's just a bonus you get to enjoy while trying to conceive. The 2 factors that matter are that 1) you're ovulating around the time you have sex, and 2) that your husband ejaculates. Everything else is timing, patience, and lots of great sex. So have fun, and good luck--

It doesn't really maek a difference if the woman orgasms...but I did hear that an orgasm makes the cervix open up and pull hte sperm into the uterus.

I've heard that women who have orgasms regularly during sex do conceive easier. All I know is that your uterus contracts when you orgasm, I'm not sure how that effects things. I'm sure it's only a slightly higher chance of conceiving since many women never orgasm through sex and plenty of women get pregnant accidentally.

no, to all of the above. Either you are fertile or not, and orgasm has nothing to do with fertility.
(I had to try for 2 years to get pregnant with my second child, and I'm a lucky one that gets REGULAR orgasms. Almost every time...go me! :) )

I have a dim recollection of reading somewhere that it helps if a woman orgasams just before the man. Something about the cervix opening during orgasam and so the sperm have a less obstructed path. But I would assume that the amount this helps is pretty small.
