Would you watch pro wrestling if it was nothing but wrestling matches. In other words, no interviews or backstage skits...just the matches themselves?
I'm just trying to get a feel of how many people are fans of the WWE vs fans of Professional Wrestling as a sport (albeit scripted) and an industry, so please answer honestly, and give a brief reason why.

Just to answer the first person:
Choreographed athletics can most certainly be sports, or else Figure Skating would not be in the Winter Olympics.
The competition in pro wrestling is not between two guys with one trying to pin the other. The competition is to have the best match of the night. This allows wrestlers to move ahead in the business and make more money. Two wrestlers in the ring as enemies are, in fact, partners who try to outperform every other match that night.
So yes, pro wrestling is most certainly a sport.

i would watch it. thats how they used to do it in the old school days, and if that was boring, then i bet u that televised wrestling wouldnt be what it is today. great example is ric flair. i would love to see him wrestle back in his prime. that dx/flair vs rko/kenny match last night was probably the best of the night. u have 3 guys (dx/flair) who know how to put on a show and make everything look real against 3 guys (rko/kenny) who r just as good. i heard this from one of my coaches (he used to be a wrestling referee and would referee some of flair's matches when he was in st. louis at the chase) that the major difference is that back then, u would have one 5 minute interview in an hour. but now, u might have one 5 minute match in an hour, and seeing how everything but ecw is two hours, that means u might see two 5 minute matches. but i would love to watch RAW, smackdown, ecw (the old way, not this new extremely CRAPPY wrestling), and tna without all the promos, skits, and interviews.

No I woudn't because how can you watch pro wrestling with no interviews. Even in boxing and mma there are interviews.
I could never watch WWE without the entertainment. The mix between wrestling and entertainment is what has made wrestling so popular in the first place. Thank God for Hulk Hogan

Yes because I'm a huge fan of it even though all ot it is stages. Most of the other sports are stagged to. Plus I'm a loyal viewer of the WWE more than any sport now that my Oklahoma sooners football team aren't playing until I forgot when.

That's what happens when i go to the shows in my home town... No talkie or skid... just wrestling... Very little of talking in the live events. Witch i love, hell even my wife and baby are in to them, more than WWE or TNA this one seems more slow and boring then the same old WWE stuff.

i would if the two wrestlers are good at wrestling. i dont want to see john cena and umaga wrestle but chris benoit and lance storm i would watch

I would, just for the sake of seeing hot well-oiled men.... lol I don't mind the interviews, and other misc. things they do though. It's just a big night-time soap opera anyway. It's just promoted as "sports entertainment" instead of a "drama."

Yes,I will.I'm a WWE fan.As a wrestling fan,I watch all kinds of wrestling,fake or not,I will still watch it.If professional wrestling wasn't scriped,most of their wrestlers would be dead.

I WOULD ONLY WATCH A FEW THEN : UNDERTAKER MATCHES, BENOIT MATCHES, KANE MATCHES, BOOKER T MATCHES(the sane booker) FINLAY MATCHES VICTORIA,TRISH, CHYNA,IVORY, JACQUELINE, BLACKJACK BRADSHAW(when he aint republican,when he IS "BLACKJACK") sandman,tommy dreamer, luna vachon,real wrestlers can carry the show without scripts!!! but, it is television entertainment!

I would probably watch it more. While the interviews and skits are SOMETIMES amusing, they serve no purpose.
