It does not have any dates, initials, or mint locations. When one side is vertical, the other side is turned on its side by 90 degrees. The edges show no sign of a seam. How do I go about finding out what it is worth?

Sounds like a gag penny commonly sold at the 5&10 back in the day. It could be worth up to $10 to the right party. You could also check a collectors book it is probably from the 1950's or earlier and is a neat little collectible. These types of coins are routine to joke shops and change with the decade to keep their realistic look. Good Luck!

IF it is a true mint error it is probably very valuable because all my coin books show stamping and press errors to be the most valuable because they rarely make it into circulation. I would take to to a coin shop with a good reputation to have it checked out or by some books by rs yeoman. they are very detailed

Plus there is no point in making a fake coin. And even if it's fake you can sell it for a whole lotta money.

I really doubt it is REAL, but if you are convinced it is, email a few coin dealers.
