I can remember from about 18 months to two years. My grandpa used to come and take me for walks when I was little. Once I asked my mom how old I was when he used to do that. She told me and I was floored that I could remember that far back.

I am 20 and remember being 3 and 4, it was when my sister was born. I don't remember a whole lot, but I have a handful of distinct memories. I remember one time, before she could sit up by herself, I was holding her up and she bit the hell out of me and I threw her back. I was 4 and didn't know any better and felt very sorry afterward. I remember that, and I remember seeing blood where the little bugger bit me. :P And the day she came home from the hospital, my older sister called up the stairs to me. "COME DOWN, YOU HAVE A NEW BABY SISTER" and four year old me told her "she will still be there at noon when I get up!" So yeah, some pretty distinct memories still. Something to consider, when she's 20 she may remember that her cat had to be put to sleep and she was very upset about it, but she won't likely still be THAT upset about it. And even if she is, that's life, that's mourning. I had to put a horse to sleep, I don't know, close to 10 years ago and I still feel REALLY sad whenever I think about it and a little bit sick, actually. I'm just not totally over it yet. And that's okay. Everyone needs different amounts of time to deal with things, and because your daughter suffered such a loss so young, it may take her more time because it will take her time just to understand what happened before she can take her time to cope with it. She won't be scarred for life. This is just one of many things she will have to learn to live with as she grows. It happens to everyone sooner or later in life. She'll be okay.

Yes one can remember events from age two on. The fact is that you can not recall your birth (you do not have functioning eyesight) Most adults do not remember because they have suppressed the memory however some events that made a distinct impression on the child will be remembered. I hope that helps.

Actually, I personally remember before I could talk. I mean most people tend to not believe me, but I can clearly describe quite a few instances that have proved accurate when compared to accounts of others.

Yes, I remember EVERYTHING since I was 2yrs old And how badly my older sister and I had a babysitter who locked me in my room because I needed a diaper changing and she was god damn lazy so she locked me in so I had to change my own diaper, and when my parents came home and saw this they fired our babysitter right on the spot, Then I had my real dad die on us when I was 9yrs old, got molested twice....I have Bad Luck when it comes to being younger and such....So yeah you can remember a lot depending on how good or bad your memory was.

My earliest memory is 2months old...I squirted milk on the wall and ants crawled up it and I thought it was a dream but my mother told me it was real and that I couldn't possibly remember that
