(not to get at all religious...because I am NOT religious at all!)

There is a passage in the Bible that explains this brilliant little axiom you have mentioned here.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged."

A lot of people misquote the wisdom in the Bible for their own reasons and to prove their own points... Most assume that this statement means that God will judge you if you judge others.

That however is not what it means at all... not in this case anyway.

What that little piece alludes to is the fact that Whatever we judge in others... that is obviously seen through the eye (because you have to SEE something to judge something) will be reflected in your own heart and through your judgments of others, come your confessions to the world about the trouble in your own heart.

In Russian culture, certain killers, gangsters and murderers were in the practice of removing the eye balls of their victims because they believed that the image of the killer would remain on the surface of the victims eye and lead police to the identity of the killer.

The Third eye is supposedly not just some random mystical, unreasonable goal for psychics or the metaphysical but a goal for all to aspire towards in the form of the cultivation of the now dormant powers of the Pineal gland. Found in the center of the head Chakra. Opening this "eye:" supposedly awakens the soul revealing your true (spiritual) nature to the outside world and to yourself.

Eyes are shrouded in mystery in almost every culture... The Eye of Horus for one.

They supposedly mirror the soul in that all of the instances of life that we take into our selves come via the eye... What goes in, eventually comes out again. Giving reflection... because what are the eyes but a complicated lense... a mirror so to speak with physical links to mirrors and spiritual qualities to match all of there mystical, historical and superstitious connotations as well.

Like a mirror your eyes can reflect back to you what is seen in your perspective of life. The eyes are the oprnigs to your mind by which you may inturppt what is felt in concious and sub concious mind.

The eye reflects the soul.

Watch a person's eyes closely the next time you talk. If the person is interested in you or what you are saying, the pupil will dilate; if not interested, the pupil will retract.

The larger the pupil of a person's eye, the more we are drawn.

Because romantics like to fantasize that they can say what is in their heart by gazing at the person they desire OR that you can see what is in another person's heart / soul by gazing into their eyes. (since people as a rule, are lousy at verbal communications or outright lie ! )

I think it is because you can see yourself in a persons eyes, and have you ever noticed you look very different?

because it is believed that if you have a kind heart your eyes will be soft but if you have a cold heart your eyes will look hard and dark.
