Which ever octane your cars guide tells you to use. For the most part, brand names are irrelevant as the manuals will just give an octane rating.

The Octane of the gas doesn't matter unless you have a car that has to have premium... It should say on near the speedometer if it does and warnings on the gas door. If it is a turbo car, then definitely have premium in it so detonation knock won't happen. But as far as a choice of gas for any other car.. It doesn't matter 87 octane is fine.

Check the owners manual. Most cars are designed to run on a specific type of fuel. My Chrysler required 87 octane. I only learned this after a year of running premium fuel and wondering why the performance and mileage lacked. Running the lower octane fuel made a significant difference. The higher octane fuel was "predetonating". This cuased an occasional ping noise and resulterd in lower MPG and power.

If its a truck or suv just use regular unleaded. If it has any type of sports engine use supreme. On most sedans with a V6 or L4 engine it will say in the manual the higher octane the better. Any small car with a V8 will use the highest octane.

Call the car dealer and ask or check the book that came with the car. Put exactly the type that it calls for or you will regret it. If it says diesel then only diesel will do. If it says unleaded premium then only unleaded premium will do.
