You can search on People Finders and on ZabaSearch.
People Finders may list any AKAs, Age, Birth Date, Phone Address, City, State and Possible Relatives.
If you're looking for a female, People Finders may list her married name, if she's gotten married within that 35 year time period.
ZabaSearch may list addresses your dad has lived at or may be living at, as well as phone numbers. Just enter the name, select the state you know they live in, and then hit 'Submit ZabaSearch.'
These websites are only for use to find people in the USA though.

Do as many people searches as you can. Look into school records if you can. Possible phone listings, email listings. Possible work records or home purchases. I was in the same boat and came across my first flames daughter and now we write every now and then (me and the daughter) because I dare not see the old falme but am interested in what ever became of her.

google the name, or go to classmates.com...you could also find out who organises your class reunions, they may have an address. If all else fails...hire a detective
