Isn't this one of the Things About Being Married--- let's say you earn $300,000 a year-- your husband won't get disability cause your income offsets his deservedness quotient.
Now, if you were unmarried but living together, he would be more likely to get disability.

I don't understand this either and now see why they are pushing social security reforms!! My husband had a letter saying this too but I worked a lot of overtime the past couple months and was already close to the limits and they haven't said anything yet so I don't know if we'll be penalized or not. I don't understand this cause ssi isn't welfare, it's based on what the person has earned and paid in.

My ex recieves disability payments and my income had nothing to do with it. It depends on your work experience and income made prior to becoming disabled.

as a US citizen and a hard worker no doubt ... you will find that our govt. computes the amount ... if any at all is awarded depending on any and all income available to the patient.
They throw billions away on Freebies supporting Illegal Aliens and now the US citizen suffers.

what's your's is his and what's his is your's so in essence your income is also his income, it's just another way for the big people to stomp out any spark of hope that you have of survival

It called the government is bankrupt, oh ya! Macro Econ class said they cannot go bankrupt because they can just raise taxes (won't work) raise interest rates (more debt... still not bankrupt?) or print more money (inflation...oh no) The government has no more money to give... yet you all still just go on believing
