I am doing a project on the different cliques in high school. My job is to specifically look at the popular crowd. What are some 'rules' that one needs to abide by if they want to be a part of this crowd? (Example: One should wear form-fitting fashionable clothing). PLEASE! ANSWERS FROM ACTUAL 'MEMBERS' per se OF AN IN-CROWD ARE IDEAL. (But just regular opinions are as always extremely welcome too...it's just first-hand is great information)...i will be choosing a best answer for this question soon :-)

Sadly you must be physically attractive and wear expensive clothes. Have a vibrant personality and an elitist point of view. You must think that you are better than others based on what you look like, what you wear, what you drive and where you come from.

I was from an all girls convent school when I was a teen. The 'in' crowd consists of girls who speak really loudly and wear colorful sports bra and expensive sports shoes and 'naturally dyed' hair. Those are against school rules of course, but only subtly so.
They invite gossip and like to gossip and also like to make up gossip. If you are their 'affliate' or in the 'affliate group' then good, if not, tough luck. They would bully the underdogs. The 'in' group has vivid imaginations and would often think of themselves as beautifully exotic mixed-parentage persons and would exaggerate their actions and behaviour(even when it's really boring actually).
That's the 'in' group for girls' school I was from.

Just remember when you grow up, none of it will matter in the long run.
My daughter follows her friends with the clothes and material things.
My son could care less what anyone thinks about him, he is the one with the best grades and focuses on the important things. He is also very creative and talented.

To be part of the *in crowd* you need to erase your sence of individuality...become a cookie cutter person.....make sure you are not different...that would be so UNCOOL!

Talk about your "friends" behind their backs, make out with their boyfriends, and act like a complete b---- to anyone you don't know.
