Fisher Price People. My daughter (2yrs) spends HOURS with those things...and she doesn't even need the houses, etc that you can get, either. Just the people..or really, any sort of figurines like that. She mixes and matches them all.

At her age, it can be hard to find something that holds her attention for very long, but the people are one thing she just can't get enough of.........

OH!! And the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn House. She got that last Christmas and STILL loves it. It is more on the $$ side, but let me tell ya.....totally worth it. You will find nothing but great reviews on that thing on the Toys R Us website. All true!

The best buy for us so far, for our 9 month old daughter, is the Leap Frog Learning table! Well worth the money!

puzzles and bath toys, cups, buckets, sprayer.......my 2 y.o. can play in the tub for up to an hour an a half playing while I relax and read a magazine in the room with him. A really funny thing that kept my son occupied for hours were those plastic easter eggs, he would open them, fill them with cereal, close them, open them, hide them.......

Things in large carboard boxes. They can be cut and taped together to make castles and houses. Days and days of entertainment.
