You're preaching to the choir here. I used to be an avid fan of WWE, but the Rock left or Kane unmasked...something put me off wrestling for awhile. However, wrestling is good entertainment, and you're right, they DO recognize the troops. WWE is a great organization.

Good point.I'm a WWE fan,I don't hate TNA,but it's just the TNA fans. They keep on talking about TNA being real and WWE being fake, which makes me angry. Most of them(not all) fail to realize that it's all sports entertainment.WWE doesn't focus on wrestling,it focuses on ENTERTAINMENT and the TNA fans keep on saying that WWE is not delivering wrestling.Anyway,it's great that the WWE go to Iraq and entertain those troops, most of the TNA fans don't see that.I don't hate TNA,I just prefer WWE better.

Now, I do not dislike the WWE in any way, shape or form, and have been a fan for 12+ years, but their recent quality is starting to slip. Big time. That may be why some fans are pissed and start bashing the WWE.
As for the troops, that's cool. The WWE goes to Iraq to entertain them and to lift their spirits, but you must agree with me that some things in this world are just done for the sake of appearance.
Have you ever seen rock bands say "We love this city!" or some famous celebrity say "It's great to be here in !"? I mean, it's much better than telling the truth and getting a whole lot of boos and disrespect by saying something like "This city sucks because of and I wish I never came here, but I only worry about my money, so as long as you guys pay me, I don't care."
Would you rather have the public eye look at you as a kind, caring soul, so that members of the public will say "Wow, he's cool, he supports the troops, let's support his product!" Much better than getting spat on by millions of people by saying that you simply don't care, and believe me, that's usually the case.
It's good that they went to put on a show for the troops, but it just may have been done for the sake of public appearance. That's business for you. You have to look better than any other companies. Tributing to the Troops has already helped them do that to some extent.

Yes, the WWE are into a lot of highly commendable stuff such as you mention. Only thing that bothers me is that they continue to respond to the fans's ever-increasing thirst for grizzlier and bloodier, and crazier stunts and behaviours. It's not enough now to just see one contender outwrestle his opponent. Now they have to see somebody bash the other guy over the head with a sledgehammer, or pound his face to a bloody mess. Society is sending a terrible message to children.... that it's OK for competitors (especially in physical competition) to do ANYTHING to overcome the opponent. Respect, honor, fairplay, and going by any kind of rules, don't matter. All that stuff is for wimps. It's just about winning. Do we think these wrestlers don't do themselves, and one another serious damage over time? Whoever thinks that is living in cloud cuckooland. And likewise those who don't think kids pick up on these messages and try to be like their WWE "heroes" They not only absorb that kind of message, but they begin to apply it to all other aspects of their life and the way they interract with others
I have watched the wrestling get bloodier, wilder, crazier, and downright sleezier steadily over the past year especially.. One of these days some regular member of the public is going to die because some punk wrestling fanatic, acting like he's Triple H, or John Cena, Edge or whoever beats that person to a pulp. The increasing public thirst for this kind of violence is troubling, and it does make a person wonder where we are heading as a society.- especially at a time when America is trying to convince the rest of the world what decent, honorable, peaceloving "good guys" we are..

I agree that it is admirable that they go overseas to entertain the troops, as several other companies have done (WXW, for example).
I find the WWE to be dull and boring when compared to other wrestling promotions, but I will say that they should be praised for their shows in Iraq for the troops.

You are right... also remember that WWE does more local stuff... as far as i know they work with "make a wish foundation" amongst others for youth help literacy and much more... My opinion is maybe its getting boring because its basically the same very week but they are trying to make it interesting every time...

WWE isn't supposed to be going to Iraq, that's not their job, their job is to make interesting matches, which they have been failing to do so durring the last 5 plus weeks
