This is the revelation of christ Jesus God gave the revelation to Jesus to show his people what must soon happen. And Jesus sent his angel to show his people how to obey him. I just don't get it?

Sounds very much like Revelation 1:1
It's simply an introduction, a sentence to tell us what the book entails.
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

I have searched my computer bible, which is 5 different translations, and cannot find the verse to which you refer. Please add book, chapter and verse.
