well i didn,t know they were but they are the worst and Im glad they are .First off they offer you 1000 minutes for 39.95 BUT you can,t talk on them without them going off,you lose signals constantly,so thats why they are cheap.They go off anytime you pass a tree ,they don,t have any towers so they really do need to leave the cell phone business and go find something else to do.I had one and I could only talk on it at certain places,if you would have been strained some place and needed help,guess what? no signal......
