Try the jurys hotel group i think the website is jurys.ie unfortunatley if you want to stay in dublin city centre you will pay its not that cheap for a good place. do a google search and some hotels will come up and if you see any you like you're more than welcome to email me and i'll tell you what they're like.
alternativley you could stay a little outside dublin in one of the towns like malahide this is on the coast fab irish pubs and places to eat be great for a romantic weekend away, and also its on the rail line and is only about 10 mins away by train to the city centre so you'd have the best of both worlds.
a taxi home from the city to malahide would probably cost about 16-20 euro depending on the time of day/night but its not dear.
good luck you'll love dublin :--)

We went on a group holiday "on the cheap" and stayed at the Jocobs inn not far from the needle in the centre of Dublin. It was handy as the bus's to the airport stopped off near by, and it was only £15 per night. it's a travellers hostel, but it's one of the best, with security and a good base to stay.

hi i went to dublin early this year, we stayed in a youth hostel, might sound abit 2 cheap approx £9 pppn. it was clean and served good breakfast, and also had seperate rooms, you think of a hostel and think your gonna have 2 share with strangers but you dont. i cant remember the name of it tho but when you get off the plane there is a bus service 2 the town centre running every 5 mins that will take you 2 the bus station and its approx 50 yards further up the road. a masive 4 storey building you cant miss it. hope this helps

I stayed in the Days Inn on Talbot Street, tiny rooms but they're nice and clean and it's by far the cheapest city centre pub, I did extensive research so am confident in saying that! You can book direct on the Days Inn website, just google it.

Ryanair for flights or Aer Lingus - very low fee flights. Accomodation - try Irish vacationer Board. this is not lower priced once you get right here, inns are expensive. perfect to attempt for a good purchase kit.

No charge to stay in people's homes. I have hosted over 70 people myself.
Looks a bit suss to just join and immediately start asking for somewhere to stay though.
