My father. He was in the army & then retired working several crappy jobs to keep the family going. He always made time for me. When i was young I never knew we were poor. Dad always got us new school clothes we always had food, my parents drove Very used cars we lived in the home my dad grew up in. So the way i see it is my hero was closer to home than a comic book.

Mine was Conan the Barbarian.
When you break it down, he is the ultimate success story.
He was born in a poor tribe of tough warriors who made thier way with thier way in the harshest climate.
He left his tribe to find a better living and see the world, not bowing to it, but shaping it in his own image like a force of nature only to end up as the king of the mightiest nation in his age to form a dynasty there.

haha. it will really be Santa clause. i used to hear stories about how Santa goes around to give presents to poor children every Christmas and I used to believe in them. of course i outgrew those times now but i guess it really impacted me as a child. i don't used to dare doing any bad deeds around Christmas and always woke up every Christmas with presents around my bed. hahaz.
