A memory, or a dream?

Your question has many answers.
If you are talking about the kind of dreams that we have while wide awake, I find them more comforting than memories, because when I dream I can control the outcome and try to imagine the possibilities that my dreams hold by coming true.
If you are talking about dreams that go on while I am asleep, then I definitely find my memories more comforting, even if they are about hard times, because I already know I got through them, and even if I have emotional scars to prove it, those are better than some dreams I have or nightmares that sometimes creep in while I rest.

A memory is more comforting because you can usually recall it in an instant OR it's triggered by something. I usually don't hold onto dreams very long, but I can always think of fond memories.

In fact, the only dream that I constantly remember is one that I had as a child in which I was at Disney Land and someone shot Mickey in the stomach right in front of me. Talk about traumatizing!

A memory is more comforting to me. Think, which best. A memory, get number one in class or just keep dreaming to get number one in class?

Usually a memory if it's a good one! Memories are real and it's always nice to remember the good times in life.

Definitely memories

Especially memories of your children first words, first steps, wedding vowels... well maybe. Swimming lessons, dad and daughter moments. Holidays

So yes memories
