We didn't leave them alone in 1953 when they were creating a civil and democratic society. That decision led to the 1979 hostage situation.
We didn't leave them alone in 1979, b/c we wer so scared that after the Shah that the Soviets would infiltrate that we listened to the British and helped deliver the Islamic republic to Iran on a silver platter. That decision has been biting us in the a$& too.
We're not leaving them alone now that they're trying to get rid of their oppressive regime that WE helped put in power. That's going to make us sorry too.
We need to leave them alone. They've been crushed and mutilated by the west too long and we wonder why they can't release themselves from a backward regime?
Leave them alone. they have a right tot atomic power and they will have democracy again if we let them.

My wish is that the Iranians would be taken serious
that we use all our skills to understand what they are after
and let them know too what is important for us.
Obviously they
already have a lot of problems of their own.

Its easier for us all if they start the fight first rather than us. We always look like a bully unless they start it first
