The worse thing you could do in your life is to be sitting at your local tavern 10 years from now with your friends and say, "I wish I had taken a chance and tried out with the _____ farm team. I might have made it." Go for it and best of luck.

Contact your local minor's team and see if they are having open tryouts. I know where I live the minor league team a few towns over held open tryouts during the summer for anyone between the ages of 16-24 (anyone under 18 could not sign a contract but the team did write up college recomendations for them and I'm sure will look for them in the future).
Good luck

It depends upon where ypou live. The Somerset Patriots of NJ in the Independent League hold open tryouts in March/April. Look to the Minor League team near you.

Jim Morris of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays had a minor league career and a 90+ MPH fastball. What are you bringing to the table? I'm not saying it can't be done. I'm 35 and still won't believe that I don't have a shot, but in most realms of reality... I probably don't. (-: Good luck.

What position do you play??
Did you play in college??
I'll be honest with you, unless your a pitcher that throws in the mid 90's with some sick stuff then you probably don't have a chance, but nonetheless you should go for it man, whats the worse that could happen you don't make it?? Big deal your not there already. You only live once man.

Did you ever see the movie The Rookie with Dennis Quaid? It is a true story and he was in his 30s and made it as a relief pitcher.
The odds are not in your favor, but if you have some money and no family to support, than I say go for it!

You may have to buy a minor league team to be assured of a spot on the roster.

Go for it, there's nothing that's worse than never trying. If you dont give it a shot, are you willing to live with that for the rest of your life? Try an independent league first. Or the Devil Rays
