Each had their own version of the laws of motion. Aristotle: All things are in motion at all times. Galileo: An object in motion tends to stay in motion until acted upon by an outside force. Newton: An object at rest tends to stay at rest until acted upon by an outside force. Newtonian and Galilean theory's are the ones most commonly known.

aristotle ,galileo and newton had their research in common. they all worked on the law of gravity.Among them aristotle was 1st to identify it. While galileo demonstrated all this regarding this 2 solar system and then newton being the richest continued the research work and finally gave the formula F=GMem devided by r square

I don't know what Aristotle postulated, but Galileo claimed that objects of different mass would fall at the same rate. He dropped the objects from the leaning tower in Pizza (sp?) and they didn't. Galileo attributed the difference in the rate of fall to wind resistance? I believe he falsified his research or at least came to an incorrect conclusion.

All of them were great thinkers who came up with a way to describe the world around them. Newton's ideas are the ones we currently use as they are more complete and more accurate than either Medieval ideas or Aristotle's ideas.
