If you ask Richard he'll give you a pointless essay that totally misses the question, and then you'll give him best answer, and his cheating scum helpers will give him 100 thumbs up so he still stays ahead of dukalink even tho Duka has double the best answers and about 50000 more total answers.

It depends on many things. The time of day when you ask (because at certain times there are too many weirdos around), the section where you are asking (if you try to categorize your questions properly you might get better answers) and how you post the question (if the question is clearly written with no sexual undertones or chances of getting bashed it gets better answers).
I don't think you will find absolutes, but you will definitely find answers that help you draw your own conclusions and learn new things.
Some people here give advice wholeheartedly and those are the kind of answers that will definitely be helpful.

No way. Not all circumstances apply to everyone as each one is different. What works for one will not probably work for another such as what caused the problem and so forth. Get the idea?? Advise is a dangerous thing sometimes if the one answering doesn't know the person well enough that is asking. What would you do if you followed someones advise and your world came crashing down because of the wrong answer?

You will never have the answers to all of life's problems. In my past experience, it is just easier to get through life's problems here.

People often come here to get answers and advises for life's most pressing problems or situation.

Probably no in the P&S category, people here are programmed to laugh.
I think on the other categories you really can though. I asked a serious question a while back and people gave me some great responses which helped me come to a big decision.

Some people actually try to help while others don't. It's a 50/50 shot every time. You just gotta take the time, think it out and the answer will come to you.

I'm sure you will get some great answers if people that actually care about your question are answering, but you will also get negative answers from people that have nothing better to do then answer peoples questions with stupid remarks. Also some people just type one word answers so they can get 2 points. I don' get why people would waste their time on here to get points if they are not helping people or answeing quesions..but w/e

here as yahoo! answers ? i dont think so..but its a great way to pass the time at work...or a great way to help out others...and get help with your own problems :)
besides..i dont think i would want the answer to life's problems..that's what makes us special..different...etc.
