There are so many sites and yes, they can be pricey. Try eBay, We3bellydance has nice quality stuff or search belly dance vendor sites. Many of them carry gypsy or tribal style costumes that you can adapt for the look you want. A quick and easy gypsy costume can be made from a peasant style skirt, a blouse with puffy sleeves, and a tight fitting vest. You can also layer skirts for more effect. I add a hip wrap with coins on it (found at most belly dance sites). This is authentic, but it gives the general idea.

Gypsies are Roman Catholics as a rule, not pagan.

They made their own a 100years ago, ones I have seen recently dress much like everyone else, sort of a zero fashion statement.
gypsies like amber and other silver items, multicolored jumpers made from sraps of wool. Think sites that exploit a gypsy look are fooling everyone, not gypsies.

Buy a caravan and have it pulled by a couple of old horses. start reading tea leaves, better play the part than wear the gear.

Look up the Society For Creative Anachronisms homepage, and look for Merchant's Row. The SCA garb merchants will probably have everything you are looking for and more, and be reasonably priced as well. And while you're at it, look at all the pictures of the SCA fighting reenactments.

Once I was able to sew, Made my wife's wedding dress and some cloths for a local area band. I used patterns often for m sewing. However I'm unable to sew but I still have many patterns. Why buy something, when you can create it yourself.

Go to an inexpensive thrift store. Buy fun skirts, shirts, costumes, jackets. Cut them all up and sew them into other things. Add ribbons, patches, eyelets, lace ups, felt, swap sleeves and don't forget to layer.

www.pyramidcollection.com has lots of great stuff (clothing, jewelry, pleasure items, home decor, etc.)

everything I have found in that genre is kind of pricey. I can't afford most of it either.
