Sounds like crystal meth, if any.

Look for any strange bruises or scratches if it's crystal meth.
People in crystal meth clean the house obsessively, and hurt themselves because when they are high they tend to imagine they have bugs crawling on their skin and scratch obsessively.
Anabolic steroids don't have any serious effects on aggression or personality, as it has been discovered by medical studies that those are nothing more than myths. It does have an effect on energy...so it may be a second possibility.

More importantly... was his personality always like this? Changes in personality and mood swings may be a symptom of drug addiction, but also of other problems like diabetes (as someone else pointed above), chemical imbalances, personality disorders, alcoholism, etc.

My relative is a diabetic and the symptoms above were EXACTLY how he behaved before finding out he is diabetic.

Mood swings, drinking soooooooooo much water, angry alot, ALWAYS HOT in temprature to the point it was ridiculous.

Go have his blood sugar checked immediately.

You didn't mention if he drinks alcohol alot OR is he just drinking excessive amounts of liquid ie. water?????? Because this is what diabetics do before they start treatment for diabetes - before diabetes is diagnosed.

Let us look closely into the mind of the drug user...

Oops...it is a charred lump of broken dreams, misconceptions and self loathing...
I think your friend needs to stay away from this guy...nix that. the neds to run away, and never look back, go to a shrink to be hypnotised so she forgets the fact she ever considered going out with druggie the psychopathic drug-guzzler...or he is completely schizo and doesn't need to drink...still...Run away

Just because he acts and does things differently doen't mean he is on drugs. If you know him and you want to know if he does drugs then strike up conversation and drop hints about drugs and people who do drugs and see what his reaction is.

If he's not on drugs maybe he should be...

Either way - it sounds like your friend would be better off without him. If she is married to this guy then they should try counsel ling.

You say "he drinks a lot" and then you ask if he is on drugs.

Did it ever occur to you that alcohol is a drug? Did you know that alcohol causes more problems with violence than all the illegal drugs combined? If you know he drinks a lot, then you have your answer.

He could be. Or he could have a medical problem. Maybe something to do with a hormonal imbalance.
