Last month I had a *wicked* case of PMS. I felt psychotic. I hated everything and everyone around me. I was extremely negative and nasty. It got to the point where I couldn't even stand myself! The ironic thing is that I started taking Evening Primrose Oil which is supposed to help PMS. It did not. I had the worst PMS I have had in a long time..there was a full moon too..I think that made me even nuttier! Does anyone else lose thier minds with PMS? This doesn't happen every month but when it does it's awful and I tend to do things I regret later because I react emotionally, often very angry and say really mean stuff, especially to my boyfriend. I do not want to take the pill. Is there any remedy that can help me?

PMS is caused by an excess of estrogen, and a deficiency of progesterone. You can make your PMS better by adding a little progesterone cream!

Also - there is an imbalance that occurs with your zinc and copper levels. This is the primary mechanism why PMS causes women to convert mild irritation to out and out rage. When the zinc and copper is out of synch, it is an automatic thing that happens in the brain, you truly go mad. It's not a weakness on your part it's the copper and zinc. And progesterone helps to restore that, estrogen makes it worse.

Trust me, I know how you feel. I've been there....Believe it or not I stabbed one of my stuffed animals before, LOL. I'm now on the pill and I don't have any symptoms at all anymore. Honestly it's amazing. I know you don't want to go on it, but if your PMS is really that bad I would think about it. Otherwise here are some tips for avoiding bad mood swings: Drinking tea before bed, exercising in the morning (it actually releases a chemical in your brain to make you happy) also make concious decisions when you start to feel upset. I know it sounds silly but it really helps. Remind yourself that YOU are in control of your body, not your PMS! Good luck hun. And if nothing seems to be working and it's to the point where it's taking over your life; talk to your doctor. He may prescribe a pill to make you a little bit happier! Hope that helps.

PMS has a lot to do with fluid retention. You can take some natural diuretics starting on week 3 of your cycle. During the days of most heavy symptoms, you can take a mild, natural relaxing infussion, and drink lots of water to make your kidneys work.
