Every time I start up my computer, the following appears in a box: csinsmnt.exe Unable to locate component. X this application has failed to start because APITRAP.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I have no idea what this means as I am not computer savvy.

The APITRAP.dll is a file your Norton Anti-virus needs to be able to run. The computer is trying to run it, and can't find that file.

Try reinstalling your Norton Anti-virus to fix the problem, or if you don't have it, try the link below to install.

Good luck!

Apparently you have or had Norton's Cleansweep (that is what the csinsmnt.exe is). Norton's is missing the APITRAP. dll that tells it how to run. If you have the disk for Nortons Cleansweep, reinstall it. If not, click on Start, then Control Panel, and choose Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall Nortons Cleansweep. If it still happens, click on Start, the Run. A box will appear titled Run. In the white blank type in
"MSCONFIG" (don't put in the quotation marks please). Msconfig will pop up, choose the last tab, Start Up. Look for an uncheck something that says Nortons Cleansweep or csinsmnt.exe. Sorry for being so long winded. Best of luck

It means you have a program that was improperly uninstalled from your computer. So there are still settings that are telling the computer to load the programs, except it is not there.

Start button > Run > Type in: msconfig
In the window that appears go to the Startup tab
You will see all the programs being loaded by your computer at startup. The one causing the error will be among them. Find and uncheck the program and it will go away.

If you are not sure which program, check and uncheck until you find it. You can not harm the computer by unchecking things. You just turn them back on if needed.

If your computer is working normally except those warnings means they are leftover entries of a past software on the computer. You can clean the entries from the computer using ccleaner.
run the following two menus of ccleaner
cleaner > Analyze > Run Cleaner
Issues > Scan For Issues > Fix Selected Issues
