2 women can eat the exact same thing their entire pregnancy and one can have a 5 lb baby, and the other have a 10 lb baby. So genetics play a huge part. But it's super important to make sure you take in adequate calories. Too many will make YOU bigger. Too few will not provide adequate nourishment for either of you.

Eating a healthy diet while pregnant and getting enough calories certainly makes a difference in how big and how healthy/strong baby is at birth. Some people also say that mom's food choices while PG and while breastfeeding can have an effect on what foods the child likes when s/he is older and eating solids.

Unless you develop Gestational Diabetes, I really don't think so. But, you want your baby to have all of the good things while it is growing in your belly. You can still have the 'occasional' bad meal or snack, but as a pregnant mom, you want to have the best baby that you can possibly have. Nutrition is KEY during pregnancy. And besides, who wants to gain 50 or 80 lbs when they are pregnant? You need to feel good about yourself to help you be a good mom, and gaining that much weight is definitely NOT going to make you feel good about yourself. Good Luck!

with my first being pregnant i placed 3 stone on and my infant weighed 8lb 13oz, with my 2d being pregnant i placed 3st 7 lbs on and my infant became 9lbs 6oz. i also imagine if i had yet another infant it must be even higher!! i understand its a hassle cos issues are more desirable likely to get complicated with fairly large babies. i became actually 18 when I were given pregnant the first time and maximum persons were very much shocked how large my infant became cos maximum youthful mums hassle to a lot about putting weight on and searching fat! yet i didnt care, if i became hungary then i'd devour some thing inspite of if it became a three in the morning. my 2 little ones are literally 4yrs previous and a couple of yrs previous and are very healthful. i definately imagine the burden of the infant relies upon on how a lot you devour.

I don't think so.
I wouldn't say I ate terribly healthily when pregnant and my son weighed 7lb 2oz and was fighting fit (APGAR scores of 9 and 10).
A lot of it is just down to your genes and metabolism.
I didn't put on any extra weight at all when pregnant and made sure I took a multivitamin supplement to make up for anything I lacked in my diet.

No. When pregnant with my daughter, I ate nothing but Mexican food and McDonalds Sausage McMuffin breakfasts with Dr Peppers. She came out at 9 lbs 1 oz. When I was pregnant with my son, I ate nothing but salads and baked potatoes. He came out at 10 lbs 3 oz. Genetics is the key of how much the baby will weigh...and if it is full term or a premie. Hope this helps!

I would say not not at all. Just eat loads and healthy to give the baby all the goodness. If you eat less it would have some effect. But you eat more when pregnant anyway.

Yes. Your baby is what you eat, just as you are what you eat. Veggies, fruit, meat - all good. This makes for a strong, big, healthy baby. Keep off sweets (in moderation), same with crisps.
