Why do people have to be so rude and LAUGH at peoples questions. Like you are so smart to know everything; get over yourselves.

On the contrary, doctors to NOT always know if you've had intercourse or not. Especially if not much stretching was involved. The only way they can tell is by your hymen being broken. This can also happen simply by tampons, that's why they can never be sure. It's important you tell him so he can look for other things to ensure your saftey. Good luck sweetie..

They can tell if you had intercourse within a few hours of taking the pap smear. But, why would you think that they would care?

Too bad you only have had intercourse twice and it didn't last more than 5 minutes. You've been cheated.

The pap test is done to find out if you have experienced changes in your cervix cells which would indicate the presence of the HPV virus.

Since HPV can cause cancer of the cervix, it is a very good idea to be tested.

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease, so if you have it, you have obviously had sexual intercourse. In that case the doctor will certainly know you have had sex - but if you have HPV - you have much more serious things to worry about than whether or not he knows you're not a virgin.

Unless you are intentionally trying to have a child, do not have unprotected sexual intercourse - use a condom!

Hahaha your honesty makes me laugh....ok...yes a doctor can tell if your not a virgin...But he is probably gonna ask you if your sexually active and lying to him or her could not be a good thing. When you get a pap smear, if something comes back abnormal then he is going to need to know for sure. So its best to be completely honest with him. If you are worried that your parents might find out then you don't have to worry. If you go in to see him without your parents then the doctor cannot tell your parents anything. Its against privacy laws

They can probably tell you've had sex by looking at you in other places down yonder, but a pap smear scrapes cervical cells from the cervix, so they can test you for abnormalities, not on if you've had sex.

Yes they can tell if you had sex for the first time, not how many times you have had it, or how long it was.
