Go to your local library and ask to see the microfiche or contact your local newspaper for a back issue.

Library has all of the newspaper articles you need. If they are not in newprint form, they will be on microfilm. When my best friend and 2 children died, I went to the library and the people there were super nice and helped me look for it.

The morgue at the local newspapers are your best bet. Check with the library as well. See if the newspapers have a website, and check their archives. Good luck. Sorry about your friend.

Go to your local library and ask them for help, I believe it's microfilm. Did your local newspaper run a story?, if so ask them for a copy.
